"I Dig You" Valentine Treats

I started searching for Valentine ideas for my girls PreK classes in November.  I have a whole board on Pinterest devoted to this search.  The "I dig you" treats were so cute I just couldn't resist.
At first I thought I was going to have to order printable tags, but I managed to find a couple hours this morning to get these little tags made.  The first had fun scooping M&Ms and adding the shovels.  I tied and tagged the bags.  I definitely think it was worth the time to put together the tags.  I hope the kids like them.

Crafting with Kids Challenge - Gift or Valentine Craft

It's time for the second Crafting with Kids Challenge.  This month's challenge is to make a gift or Valentine craft with your kids.  Since Valentine's is so close it would be ideal to make a Valentine gift or craft to celebrate the holiday, but it can be for anything. All it needs to do is include paper.

The girls and I worked on these little treat boxes for their teachers.  I used my Silhouette SD for the cutting and then they did the assembling (with some help from me.)  Here are some photos of our craft time together.

Jillian wasn't so excited about giving hers away after she realized she was making an owl.  She wanted to go and add it to her owl shelf.

Now it's your turn... Whether you choose to make a Valentine craft or another type of gift please share your photos and project with us.  Remember to make sure you include a child in the crafting.  This challenge will close on Sunday, February 19th, and I will draw a random winner from the entries.  Make sure to link your project up using Linky Tools below.   Bugaboo Digi Stamps has agreed to sponsor again this month, so the winner gets 6 digi stamps from their fabulous selection.

Alright everyone... get crafting!

Silhouette Sunday - Book print Silhouettes

I hope you are all having a peaceful Sunday.  It is cold and rainy here, so it's the perfect weather to stay inside and craft.  I have been very busy with Valentine orders and lots of baby shower invitation orders.   I have also been working on this week's Crafting with Kids Challenge post, so be sure to check back on Thursday for the new challenge.

The inspiration for today's Silhouette Sunday post came from this awesome Etsy find.  I just love the woodland scene on top of the salvaged book pages.  It is all made from paper using a collage technique.  Very cool, right?

You can find this fabulous art work over at FiddleheadsForFiona.  They have some other great silhouettes on book print in bright colors and a variety of animals like this beautiful pieces.  The bright red birds just pop on the neutral book print background.

If you are looking for a less modern and more dreamy piece check out this one I found at the shop missquitecontrary.  I love how the blue covers most of the book print and how the actual picture is made from the exposed print.  It gives the leaves and trees such a dreamy effect!

Lastly I couldn't resist this one especially for you dog lovers.  These dauschunds are printed directly on a textbook page.   The awesome collage work of the dogs pair great with the aged color and texture of the book page.  Check out TwinSoulArt for other dogs and collage art work.

Well it took me a while to find one of my own creations using a silhouette on book print.  I created this Father's day card last year for my shop.  It would be great for Father's day or as a birthday card for Dad.  I used my favorite Cricut silhouette cartridge "Child's First Year" for the image of the boy and paper and ribbon are from My Minds Eye and Stampin Up.

Image taken by me.
I hope you found some inspiration or maybe a gift or two in my Silhouette Sunday picks.  I know I will be making some book print cards very soon.  Such great inspiration!  Check back next week for more fabulous silhouettes available on Etsy.

New Blog Challenge Logo!

Check this out!  I now have a logo for my Crafting with Kids monthly challenge!  I absolutely love how it has turned out!  I had the little hand in hand image in my head and Kimberly Costa of Cucu Design somehow managed to create it with my very rudimentary email description as well as add the fabulous wording and stitching.  I love it!!

Well this is just a little shout out for Kimberly and to remind everyone that the next Crafting with Kids Challenge will start on Thursday.  I hope to see some sweet projects and some kids having fun crafting.  Check back on Thursday for the theme and to begin posting your projects.
